The Baloney Funeral Home is a regional funeral home whose goal is to offer professional and respectful service that reflects the life of the individual and honors the wishes of each family it serves. More than five decades ago, our company was founded based on the belief that our customers' needs are of the utmost importance. Our entire team is committed to meeting those needs. As a result, a high percentage of our business consists of repeat customers and referrals.
The general manager, Carl Baloney, Sr., was originally introduced to the funeral business through his father, Earl Baloney, Sr., who attended the nation’s oldest school of its kind, Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, and graduated with honors in 1947 with a degree in Embalming and Funeral Service.
Following graduation, Earl, Sr. worked as a licensed embalmer and insurance salesman at a local mortuary until he opened Earl Baloney & Sons Mortuary in 1958. Following in his footsteps were his two sons, Earl Baloney, Jr. (deceased) and Carl Baloney, Sr., each of whom also graduated from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science with honors in 1963 and 1965, respectively.
Carrying the tradition of professionalism and service, Carl Baloney, Sr. held the positions of Instructor of Funeral Service and Director of Clinical Embalming at Delgado Community College, before becoming the founding Director of Funeral Service Administration at Southern University at Shreveport. He has trained hundreds of funeral directors and embalmers and has lectured internationally.
Today, the Baloney Funeral Home, is still locally owned and operated, providing casket/cremation receptacle sales, funeral services, cremation services and pre-funeral care services to customers throughout the Greater New Orleans and Baton Rouge areas. The regional funeral home is now in its third generation of operation.
We would welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and deliver you the best service in the industry.
